Rebecca Jade Hammond
Rebecca is a Welsh partially deaf Actor, Writer, Author represented by The Artists Partnership (acting), The Haworth Agency (playwriting/Screenwriting), CAA (Fiction/Author writing) and published by Methuen .
Her play ‘Hot Chicks’ produced by Sherman Theatre and Grand Ambition, recently received ★★★★ in The Guardian and The Stage and placed in the top 50 Shows in the UK 2025 also in The Stage. Rebecca was long-listed by The Bruntwood Prize and short-listed for The Alpine Fellowship and Papatango Playwriting prize. She is a double recipient of the Peggy Ramsay bursary.
She is currently under commission with Theatr Clwyd, Chippy Lane, Sherman Theatre, Wales Millennium Centre and Lushkin Films. In summer 2026 Rebecca will be part of the BBC’s Casualty writers scheme for emerging Welsh screenwriters aswell as working on her first novel ‘Unfinished Things’ that will go out on submission in the autumn.
Her next play ‘The Dark I Swim’ is being produced by Francesca Moody Productions and Theatr Clwyd for Shedinburgh at Edinburgh Festival and will transfer to The Young Vic in London and Sherman Theatre Cardiff.
She founded Chippy Lane Productions Ltd. in 2016 Wales’ foremost new writing company and is currently Artistic Director.
